In honor of November being Diabetes Awareness Month and in celebration of World Diabetes Day marked on November 14, Carb DM is hosting the Silicon Valley Premiere of DxOne (diagnosis: type 1 diabetes), an 18 minute film about a family coping and coming to terms with their son’s diagnosis with type 1 diabetes.
Film writer and director, and type 1 dad, Dan Masucci and his son Nick, who stars in the movie, will be joining us from New York for this exclusive screening. Following the film we will hear from Dr. Susan Markowitz, a clinical psychologist, and Lucas Fogarty, a young adult athlete living with T1D. There will be a panel discussion with them as well as Dan and Nick Masucci.
This event is a fundraiser for Carb DM, a non profit organization that provides ongoing outreach and education programs to children, their parents, and adults with type 1 diabetes. Through its individual mentoring and targeted programs for toddlers, teens, parents, families, and adults with T1D, Carb DM empowers people with diabetes to feel confident about their ability to manage diabetes and positive about their future.
All funds raised from ticket sales and donations will benefit Carb DM's programs.
